Succession Planning and Executive Director Coaching

My experience as an executive director of a small organization means I understand the challenges of being an executive director. Two of my core offerings are designed to make that role successful:

Succession Planning

Even if you have no intention to leave, there are many reasons to create a plan. You may want to take a vacation. You may wonder how you can develop internal leaders who can some day step up to a new role.  Succession plans help you strengthen your organization now through building up effective leaders on the board and staff and creating effective procedures and policies.

The Successful Transitions cohort is open to Lincoln-based organizations who are ready to plan for the future, no matter when they expect a leadership change. Each nonprofit participates in three group workshops, receives individual coaching, and has a customized board training on succession planning. The next cohort begins in mid-April. Applications will be available to Cause Collective members in early February. Read more about the program here.

In the summer of 2019, I completed Third Sector Company’s Succession Planner Boot Camp, which provided me with a wide range of resources to help organizations plan for the future.

Executive Director Coaching

Need someone who can brainstorm solutions with you? Having an executive director coach means you have someone to talk to who knows what you are going through, and who can help you develop your skills. Being an ED can be a lonely job. It’s rewarding, but definitely has its stressful moments. Develop practical ways to manage yourself, your organization, and staff better.  Contact me for a free discovery session to discuss how I can help.

I’ve worked with many nonprofit organizations including:
